The El Camino Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty position(s) for the 2026 fall semester.

THEA-188: Fundamentals of Stage Make-Up

Faculty assignments may include morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours. Dual enrollment, distance education, on-line or hybrid with required distance education certification assignments are voluntary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Any bachelor's degree and two years of experience; OR
• Any associate degree and six years of experience; OR
• Master's degree in drama, theatre arts, performance; OR
• The equivalent
• Valid California community college instructor credential in appropriate subject issued prior to July 1, 1990
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, socio-economic, academic, and cultural diversity within student populations

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous college-level teaching experience.
• Experience in makeup for the theatre including basic makeup tools, materials, techniques and methods used in creating various character effects for stage and television.
• Experience with hair and wigs.

SALARY

Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $110.17 - $139.37 (lecture), $83.51 - $105.62 (lab) per hour depending on education and experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a part-time, faculty position for the Theatre program, beginning fall 2026.
