Part-Time Instructional Technology Specialist
The Part-Time Instructional Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting with integrated classroom technology, audio and presentation technology for College-wide events, and streaming live events across multiple campuses. The Specialist will install and troubleshooting technology that is integrated in any learning or meeting space including, but not limited to, projectors, switchers, cameras and microphones. The Specialist may also need to travel to multiple campus locations.
Examples of Duties
- Provides integrated classroom technology training and daily support to faculty, staff, and third-party organizations.
- Assists with mobile technology delivery and training to assure accuracy and timeliness.
- Installs, upgrades, maintains, and repairs classroom and mobile cart technology.
- Assists with the Nursing Department Simulation Lab and Capture systems.
- Assists department with facilitating and scheduling virtual conferencing events.
- Assists department with any live streaming needs not limited to workshops, events and meetings.
- Reviews ticketing system daily for new or on gonging issues that are not resolved.
- Additional support maybe necessary for other areas in the Office of Technology during peak season or emergency situations.
- Monitors department email or other communication platforms for any support or ticket requests that require response and attention.
- Ability to resolve problems and answer routine questions without direct supervision.
- Keeps management informed of opportunities, problems, and issues.
- Night and weekend support as needed.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or proven related field experience
- Knowledge of projection equipment
- Experience with interactive display boards
- Experience with networked audio equipment and mixing boards
- Experience with AV Networks
- Experience with live event streaming
- Knowledge of ticketing systems
- Excellent organizational skills
- Available to work a flexible schedule that will allow for after-hours and weekend/holiday support and being on call during non-scheduled work hours.
- Ability to use personal vehicle to travel to multiple campus locations.
- Ability to handle and move equipment up to 60lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Live streaming via Zoom or Teams experience
- PA Systems and live audio experience
- Knowledge of and experience with Extron hardware and programming
