Job Description

SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTSProject MuSE

Project MuSE is a multi-year transformational education project. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged, gifted students, parents' engagement, community music, industry-higher education collaboration, and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech, art-tech, interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural studies, and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students.

Part-Time Instrumental Instructor (25260513)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrumental group training classes to participating primary schools;
  • Communicate and coordinate lessons with project team and participating schools;
  • Proactively seek innovative ways in instrumental teaching;
  • Assist in carrying out program content designed by project team; and
  • Perform any other duties, such as school performances and instrument demonstrations, as assigned to support the successful operation of the project and the school.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Music or above;
  • Open-minded and willing to try new ways of teaching and learning; 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with high level of self-motivation and accountability.

Remarks:

  • The applicant should possess substantial experience and qualifications in teaching one or more of the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Saxophone and Percussion;
  • The appointee is required to work from one of the following locations: Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, North, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Sha Tin, Sham Shui Po, Tai Po, Kowloon City, Yau Tsim Mong, and Wong Tai Sin District.  

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
