Part-time Lecturer

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: 

• planning and teaching a full-time General Education Course for undergraduate students;
• completing related duties including preparing teaching notes, marking and commenting on assignments and examination papers;
• assisting in the development of teaching and learning activities;
• delivering classes in Korean and English;
• providing consultation to students; and
• performing other duties related to the development and delivery of the course.

The appointees shall be required to teach a maximum of 3 hours per week on weekday evenings on campus in the face-to-face mode between September 2026 and January 2027.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Korean language, Korean studies, or a related discipline;
• certification of TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 6;
• prior teaching experience in Korean language courses to non-native speakers;
• up-to-date knowledge of modern Korean media (e.g., anime, maanga, films, music, video games);
• ability to create and deliver lectures, materials and assessments appropriate for undergraduate students; and
• proficiency in both written and spoken English.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in tertiary education.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidateswill be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
