Thanks to the remarkable recognition it has earned through innovative industry partnerships and distinctions from professional societies, the Cornell Systems Engineering Program is experiencing a period of significant growth. To support this expansion, the Program invites applications for a 9-month, renewable Lecturer position, to be based on campus.
This opening is for a 25% appointment, non-benefits-eligible Lecturer role. We welcome applications from candidates whose work advances systems engineering in areas including, but not limited to:
- Complex systems modeling and analysis
- Digital transformation technologies (e.g., digital twins, IoT, cyber-physical systems)
- Data- and AI-driven decision-making, analytics, and intelligent systems
- Blockchain and secure distributed systems
- Sustainability, climate-related systems, and socio-technical systems
- Software-enabled systems development and emerging computational tools
The Systems Engineering Program draws on the broad expertise of Cornell faculty and offers distinctive transdisciplinary master's and doctoral programs designed to prepare future leaders to address complex engineering, sociotechnical, and policy challenges. Our students come from a wide range of disciplines, industries, and countries, creating a vibrant and diverse academic environment. The successful applicant will join a rapidly growing program and can make a direct and meaningful contribution to its continued development.
The individual hired will play an integral role in advancing the Program's educational mission. As a member of the Systems Engineering faculty, the Lecturer will contribute through active engagement in instructional, operational, and scholarly activities. The role includes teaching a limited number of well-developed, analytically focused graduate courses and ensuring that course content remains current and aligned with emerging developments in the field of systems engineering.

Pay Ranges: $12,425 - $30,500
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
