Part-Time Staff: Event Coordinator
Job Summary
Incumbent will assist with the execution of various events (internally and externally) and help promote the College as a viable educational institution.
Essential Functions
- Assist with reserving appropriate size venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers
- Manage all event set-up, tear down and follow-up processes
- Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
- Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the client’s standards
- Maintaining event(s) budget
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in community needs, assignments, and organizational structure
- Ability to work independently in an effective manner with minimal supervision
- Work at a fast-paced environment with interruptions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR equivalent G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree OR Four (4) years of directly related work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Effective human relations skills, including the ability to work cooperatively with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
