PART-TIME/ADJUNCT FACULTY
The Alder Graduate School of Education (GSE) is generating an applicant pool of temporary, part-time, adjunct course instructors to teach graduate-level courses in our master's and teacher preparation programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. The work supports a practice-based residency model that integrates theory and practice in partnership with TK-12 schools in historically underserved communities. We are seeking candidates for the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms in various formats (e.g., asynchronous online, synchronous online, in-person, co-teaching) and in the various California locations we serve. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until open positions are filled.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Course instructor duties include:
- Teaching graduate-level courses.
- Course planning and preparation.
- Meeting with and supporting residents through office hours and other mechanisms of course-related support.
- Grading.
- Collaborating with Alder GSE staff, faculty, and leadership.
Summary of Basic Qualifications
- Doctoral-level degree preferred; a Master's-level degree in relevant fields is also accepted.
- Deep expertise and experience in P-12 education and the course content area(s).
- Expertise must demonstrate an asset, diversity, equity, and justice-based pedagogical approach orientation.
- Prior higher education or teacher education instructional experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be a California resident.
