Job Description
Oversees all planning and coordination of Camp Blue Hawk, the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center's residential camp program, including a 5-day Summer Camp, 3-day winter Teen Retreat, and Family Day, for children and teens with type 1 diabetes.
Duties:
- Is responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, and training of all camp staff deemed necessary for the successful operation of overnight programs.
- Is responsible for the programming of camp session activities including developing the session agenda, acquiring necessary supplies and 3rd party vendors, and facilitating activities.
- Is responsible for the registration of campers including creating marketing materials to appeal to potential camp families, leading families successfully through the registration process, working with registered families to ensure registration fee payment and scholarship awarding, and communicating with families to all necessary information for the camp session.
- Is responsible for seeking out funding opportunities for the camp, including grants, crowdfunding campaigns, individual and corporate donors, and fundraiser events.
- Attends the national Diabetes Education and Camping Association and American Camp Association national conferences annually.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
- NOTE: This position is not responsible for medical care issues outside of coordinating medical staff schedules and ordering supplies.
Job Requirements
Required education and experience: Bachelors degree, AND:
- 24 months of project management or related experience.
Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelors degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
