"Personal Assistant to the Disney Professor and Deputy Director (Part Time)"

The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, part of the Department of Archaeology, is seeking to recruit a part-time Personal Assistant to support both the Disney Professor and the Deputy Director of the Institute. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive secretarial/PA service, ensuring the efficient and effective management of their time and work.

Based at the Downing site in the city centre, the role involves managing diaries and correspondence, acting as secretary to committees and meetings, and preparing agendas, papers, and minutes. The position is advertised at 29.20 hours per week (0.8 FTE), with flexibility to suit the successful applicant and the needs of the Disney Professor and Deputy Director.

The successful applicant will have strong PA, secretarial and administrative experience, excellent diplomatic skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. They will be confident using a range of IT skills to support day to day activity, including software and video conferencing packages, as well as being highly organised and efficient with excellent time management skills. A degree of familiarity with the field of archaeology is welcomed but not essential.
