In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $110,000.00 Annually
Maximum: $133,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

A full time Advanced Practice Profession, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Western University Medical Centers and be involved with both patient care and student instruction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals and patients.
• Must have working knowledge of common desktop computer software, including basic familiarity with Electronic Medical Record and tablet based health record systems and have a general knowledge of audio-video recording systems.
• Must be able to function independently, make sound judgment calls, and be able to practice within the full scope of the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
• Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• (Physician Assistant) Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or (Nurse Practitioner) FNP and National Certification required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare delivery.

Licensure:

• (Physician Assistant) California Physician Assistant License and NCCPA Certification required or (Nurse Practitioner) FNP and National Certification required.

Health Clearance:

• Must submit all required health related documents prior to employment. May be required to maintain annual records for items such as TB clearance.

Background Check:

• A background check may be initiated that may include criminal, employment, and educational, history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates will be given strong preference.
