The Academic Affairs department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a part-time Placement Coordinator position.
Initial licensure candidates have a number of required clinical experiences that must be completed in teacher preparation courses prior to Student Teaching. The Placement Coordinator makes all the arrangements for fieldwork and clinical experiences (e.g., gathering paperwork from candidates, making contacts with host sites, assigning faculty and adjunct supervisors to observe candidate performance, facilitating co-teaching training, conducting meetings with candidates and supervisors). The Placement Coordinator also plays an integral role in the development and review of documents (e.g., applications, handbooks).
The Placement Coordinator is key in facilitating the Pre-Student Teaching Interview (PSTI) process and coordinates the scheduling of the event and development of materials in each semester. The Placement Coordinator supports the Licensure Coordinator to ensure materials distribution to teacher candidates, assists in the planning and facilitation of edTPA training for candidates and faculty, assists with local edTPA assessment, and participates in edTPA specific professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g, D2L) and Data Management/ Electronic Portfolio/Assessment Management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Taskstream)
- One year of experience using Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills within professional settings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching license in any area
- Classroom experience
- Experience in teacher education or student placement experience in schools
- Knowledge of Minnesota Licensure Requirements and PELSB Rules
