About us

The Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Policy Impact Manager to join its policy impact team and support the delivery of its strategy to both localise and internationalise its policy impact work.

The PEC was established to bridge the gap between research and policymaking in the field of modern slavery and human trafficking, taking a human rights-based approach. Now hosted within Oxford’s Humanities Division and part of the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, the Centre is entering an ambitious new phase of growth and expanded influence across modern slavery and adjacent areas of human rights policy.

The role

Reporting to the Policy Impact Lead, you will develop subject-matter expertise in modern slavery and human rights policy, monitor legislative and policy developments, and identify opportunities to strengthen the impact of the Centre’s research in the UK and internationally.

You will build and maintain relationships with policymakers and decision-makers, produce accessible policy-facing outputs such as policy briefs and evidence submissions, and work closely with researchers to develop tailored engagement plans that maximise policy impact. The role also involves supporting meaningful inclusion of lived experience in policy impact activity and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the Centre’s policy-influencing work.

About you

You will have experience working at the research–policy interface, with expertise in modern slavery or human rights and a strong understanding of UK policymaking processes. You will be highly research literate, an excellent communicator able to translate complex evidence for policy audiences, and confident building professional relationships across sectors. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and professional integrity are essential.

Experience in government or the third sector, project or programme management, impact evaluation, or engagement with people with lived experience would be advantageous.

Application process

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online via the above 'Apply' button, where the job description and access to the online recruitment system can also be found.

Shortlisting will take place during the following week and interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing 16th March.
