Job Summary:

Teach a variety of Welding classes including Basic Print Reading, Welding Fabrication, and Arc Welding. Initial assignment will include emphasis on fabrications projects.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of a journey program in welding, pipefitting or mechanical maintenance trade involving significant welding experience, plus an additional five or more years full-time journey level experience in welding, metal fabrications and layout.
• Applicants with an associate’s degree in welding or related field, completion of a journey program and three years journey level experience will also be considered.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:

1. Teach classes.
2. Instruction to industry standards.
3. Grading and assessment of student written and lab work.
4. Work as a team member of department and deliver curriculum as determined by the chair and faculty.
5. Maintain equipment and facilities.
6. Manage students in a learning environment.
7. Deliver appropriate safety related instruction.
8. Perform other professional duties as needed.

Salary and Compensation Information: Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term, if eligible.
