May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment. 4. May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel. 5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control. 6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action. 7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations. 8. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a strong solid-state synthesis and crystallography background, preferably with experience in high-pressure techniques. This position focuses on exploring fundamental chemistry and computational modeling to advance our understanding of intermetallic gold chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct solid-state synthesis and characterization of intermetallic gold compounds.
  • Utilize high-pressure techniques to study structural and chemical properties.
  • Perform computational modeling to analyze and predict chemical behavior.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance research objectives.
  • Present findings at meetings and contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in solid-state synthesis and crystallography.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure techniques is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computational modeling tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
