Postdoc (f/m/x)
Your Tasks
- Conduct high-level independent research in one or more areas represented at IQOQI Vienna, including but not limited to:
- quantum optics and quantum information,
- foundations of quantum mechanics,
- quantum communication and quantum networks,
- theory–experiment interfaces,
- quantum aspects of gravity and spacetime physics.
- Develop original research ideas and contribute to the scientific profile of the institute.
- Publish research results in leading international peer-reviewed journals.
- Present results at international conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Assist in the development, analysis, or interpretation of theoretical models or experimental data.
- Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and collaborative grant applications.
- Provide scientific guidance and mentoring to PhD students and Master’s students.
- Support early-stage researchers through discussions, feedback on research, and joint problem solving.
- Support the institute’s international visibility through scientific networking.
- Promote an open, collaborative, and inclusive research environment.
Your Profile
- Completed PhD studies in physics
- Previous research experience and a scientific track record reflecting your level of seniority
- Experience in supervising students and writing project proposals

The minimum annual gross salary for this position is EUR 70.167,44 (full-time based), in accordance with the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). For part-time employment, the salary will be adjusted on a pro rata basis in line with the agreed working hours.
