Postdoc position in Intelligent, Acoustics-Based Diagnostics for High-Tech Systems
Job Summary: The Dynamics based Maintenance group at the University of Twente is seeking a postdoc for the ZORRO project, focusing on intelligent, acoustics-based diagnostics to enhance the availability and reliability of high-tech systems like those in the semiconductor industry. This involves identifying faults using microphone arrays in complex acoustic environments with moving sound sources and reverberations. The project combines data-driven approaches with physics-based models and includes developing an experimental set-up for acoustic data collection, with collaboration among industrial partners, universities, and research institutes.
Responsibilities: Localize anomalous sounds related to faults, enrich physics-based models with data-driven methods, further develop the experimental set-up, and work on a case from one of the participating industrial partners while engaging in broader project collaboration.
Qualifications and Requirements: A PhD degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field; research experience in acoustics, including both modeling and experimental aspects; affinity with data-driven methods; proficiency in spoken and written English; and the ability to work effectively in a team.
What the Employer Offers: A full-time postdoc position for two years at the University of Twente and company premises; a gross salary between €4,241 and €5,538 per month based on experience; excellent benefits including an 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, solid pension scheme, professional and personal development opportunities, and a dynamic international environment on a green campus.
