Postdoctoral Associate, Management Science and Systems

Position Summary

The Department of Management Science and Systems at the UB School of Management invites applications for two Postdoctoral Associate positions, with an anticipated start date in Fall 2026. These are full-time research appointments designed to support early-career scholars in advancing a strong, independent research agenda while engaging in collaborative scholarship within a vibrant and interdisciplinary academic environment.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong research backgrounds in game theory, mechanism design, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and optimization, broadly defined. Applicants working at the intersection of these areas, especially those applying theoretical and computational methods to problems in management science, information systems, data science, or related fields, are especially encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates are expected to conduct independent, high-quality research aimed at publication in leading academic journals.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Management Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong theoretical and/or methodological expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, game theory, mechanism design, optimization, or revenue management.
• Demonstrated potential for high-quality research publications.
