"Postdoctoral Associate"

Required Qualification: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Theoretical Physics or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment.

Preferred Qualification:
PhD degree in theoretical high energy nuclear and particle physics. A strong background in quantum field theory and experience in effective field theory/lattice gauge theory/scattering amplitude computations is desirable.

Brief Description of Duties:

Stony Brook University has a Postdoctoral Associate position available to conduct research in the Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Science and the Nuclear Theory Group at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The incumbent will perform research in theoretical nuclear and high energy physics and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

Duties:

• Perform cutting edge research to achieve research objectives of the Simons Collaboration on Confinement and QCD Strings.
• Preparation of papers for publications, presentation of results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.
• Collaborate with members of scientific communities, both nationally and internationally.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
