The University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellow within the Education Policy Division. The start date is planned for Summer 2024, with some flexibility. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Sade Bonilla on research initiatives studying teacher labor markets and leadership. This involves collaboration with the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). The fellow will apply quasi-experimental expertise to evaluate other SDP initiatives. Penn GSE offers access to seminar series, professional development, and conference support.

Key Functions and Expected Performances

The successful candidate will collaborate with Professor Bonilla to advance research, including:

• Documenting administrative data with attention to detail.
• Conducting rigorous quasi-experimental data analysis.
• Mentoring student research assistants.
• Crafting reports for funders.
• Writing manuscripts for academic journals.
• Communicating with partners and delivering presentations.

Qualifications

Requirements: An earned doctoral degree in economics of education, education policy, economics, public policy, or related field before the start date. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with initiative, writing skills, and collaboration experience. Preference for candidates with experience in education agencies, large administrative datasets, and quasi-experimental designs.
