Job Summary
The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

The Computer Science Department at The University of Alabama seeks candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. This role is open to individuals with research interests in optimization, evolutionary computation, and machine learning.
Initial appointments are for one year.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or terminal degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong collaboration skills. Strong analytical and computational skills, including but not limited to an in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of python programming, deep neural network analysis, and large language models. Ability to work independently and generate innovative, out-of-the-box research ideas. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Nine (9) months of active postdoctoral research experience. Record of academic achievement through publications and scholarly contributions. Publication record in optimization, evolutionary computation, and machine learning. Experience with multi-objective optimization and multi-criteria decision-making. Experience with data visualization.
