Postdoctoral Fellow (VNTP)
The Center for Neural Science and the Cognition and Perception Program of the Department of Psychology at New York University have a one-year postdoc position available, supported by our Visual Neuroscience Training Program. It is expected that the postdoc in this position will seek funding (e.g., an NIH NRSA award) for continuing the position after the first year. Applicants must have completed the PhD by the date of appointment (no later than 5/31/26), and must be eligilble for NRSA support (US Citizen or permanent resident). The position allows for work with any of the training faculty, including:
- Marisa Carrasco - visual attention using psychophysics, TMS, imaging
- Clay Curtis - action selection and working memory using imaging and eye movements
- Claude Desplan - color vision in Drosophila using imaging and physiological approaches
- Danique Jeurissen - visually guided behavior, perception and decision-making using behavior and causal manipulations of parietal activity
- Grace Lindsay - visual attention using computational and behavioral techniques
- Biyu Jade He - awareness and conscious/unconscious processing using EEG, MEG and MRI
- David Heeger = computational models of visual processing
- Roozbeh Kiani - visually based decision-making using physiological methods and imaging
- Lynne Kiorpes - visual development in nonhuman primates
- Michael Landy - sensory cue integration and action using psychophysics and computational modeling
- Wei Ji Ma - decision-making and planning using behavior and computational modeling
- Anthony Movshon - function and development of the visual system using neurophysiological, neuroimaging, computational, and psychophysical methods
- Hannah Payne - interactions between memory and vision studied in food-caching birds
- Denis Pelli - feature integration and object recognition using psychophysics
- Eero Simoncelli - computational neuroscience
- Alexander Williams - development of computational techniques to look for patterns in complex neuroscientific data
- Jonathan Winawer - function of early visual pathways using psychophysics, imaging and iEEG
The NYU vision group is world renowned, with dozens of faculty members spanning several departments. It includes research in all areas of vision science including psychophysics, computational and mathematical modeling and physiology.
