Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Molecular Medicine - Ruđer Bošković Institute, Laboratory for Protein Dynamics, for working in the area of Biomedicine and Health, in the field of Fundamental Medical Sciences, on the project: "Deciphering the mechanisms of resistance to BRAF/MEK inhibitors in melanoma", founded by Croatian Science Foundation, for a fixed period of (8) months, and at the latest until the completion of the project. One position. Job title: Contest point 10 – Postdoctoral Fellow.

Skills/Qualifications

• PhD academic degree in the area of Natural Sciences (Biology/Molecular Biology), or in the area of Medical Sciences (Fundamental Medical Sciences), or in the area of Biotechnology Sciences (Biotechnology), or in the area of Interdisciplinary Sciences (Biotechnology in Biomedicine);
• Active knowledge of the English language; speech and writing.

Advantage will be given to candidates with experience in work with molecular biology methods including a high skill in working with cell cultures and confocal microscopy, methods used for gene- and protein expression, and published scientific papers and presentations at scientific conferences.

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must comply with the general conditions of the Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Croatian Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, as well as the following conditions:

• PhD academic degree in the area of Natural Sciences (Biology/Molecular Biology), or in the area of Medical Sciences (Fundamental Medical Sciences), or in the area of Biotechnology Sciences (Biotechnology), or in the area of Interdisciplinary Sciences (Biotechnology in Biomedicine);
• Active knowledge of the English language; speech and writing.

Additional comments

1. In accordance with Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act, persons of both sexes may compete in hiring competitions;
2. The candidate cannot be employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Republic of Croatia for a total of more than four years. With a candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow who has already been employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow, an employment relationship can be established for a maximum of 4 years, and the candidate is required to submit a certificate of employment from the previous employer or previous employment contracts for the position
3. The employment includes a six-month trial period;
4. Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
5. The employment, according to the Rules of Croatian Science Foundation - for work on a project as Postdoctoral Fellow, can be contracted a maximum of two times (i.e. on two different projects) and only with candidates whose period between the enrolment in doctoral studies and this employment is no longer than 10 years.
6. A work contract with a Postdoctoral Fellow can be concluded upon the consent of Croatian Science Foundation.
7.
