Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of psychological health and suicide prevention in first responder and military communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative, high-impact research in collaboration with government, academia, industry, and foundation partners. The fellowship is affiliated with the Translational Research to Understand Suicide and Trauma (TRUST) Lab (PI: Ian Stanley, PhD), Center for Combat Medicine and Battlefield (COMBAT) Research, and the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The successful applicant(s) will work as part of—and receive mentorship from—a multidisciplinary team of investigators with expertise in psychological health, suicide prevention, military medicine, and related topics. The specific content and mentorship structure within the fellowship will be tailored to meet the goals and objectives of the fellow. The fellowship will help prepare early career investigators for successful academic or related careers.

The postdoctoral fellow will support ongoing initiatives, including developing, implementing, and evaluating psychological health educational curricula for first responders and testing assessment and intervention approaches to improve psychological health in first responder and military communities. The postdoctoral fellow will also lead independent research projects, including manuscripts and grant applications, focused on promoting psychological health and suicide prevention in first responders and military service members, veterans, and their families.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, PsyD, or DrPH) in psychology, public health, emergency management, or a related field prior to starting the fellowship

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (*or hiring range*) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $62,232 - $75,564

*The stipend level for the entire first year of support is determined by the number of full years of relevant postdoctoral experience when the award is issued.*
