Workplace

- Focus: Cryptography, Computer Security, Wireless and Fixed Networks
- Security group: ~20 members
- Research directions: Cryptography, Privacy, and System Security for Connected Systems
Collaboration: Department of Computer Science, focusing on software engineering and AI, with ~15 members.
Position Description
The doctoral student position is part of Cybercampus Sweden and the LTH research center NextG2Com.
Research focus:
- Intersection of Cybersecurity and Software Engineering
- Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) for AI-based and AI-driven software development
- Extend TARA practices to meet regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act)
- Automating TARA analysis for AI applications and AI-based software development
- Case study and experimental-driven research
Work duties:
- Devote primarily to doctoral research, courses, seminars, and conferences
- Contribute to research projects and teaching (up to 20% of working hours)
- Collaborate with Cybercampus offices in Stockholm and other Swedish doctoral students
Qualifications
General admission requirements:
- Second-cycle (Master’s) degree or equivalent (240 ECTS, 60 in second cycle)
Specific requirements for Electrical Engineering:
- MSc or 60 credits in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics, Nanoengineering, Engineering Physics, or Information and Communication Engineering
Additional requirements:
- Strong software development skills
- Experience with complex computer and communication systems
- Ability to work independently and formulate research problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to cooperate effectively
- Must meet Cybercampus security eligibility
Preferred qualifications:
- Courses or thesis in Computer Security or Cryptology
- Documented software engineering and AI skills
- Teaching and communication skills
- Industrial experience
