Overview
Lund University invites applications for 1–2 doctoral studentships in human geography. The positions involve participation in the department’s research and teaching environment, with up to 20% of time allocated to teaching or administrative duties.
The research should be in the field of human geography, preferably complementing ongoing departmental research. The department encourages projects that advance human-geographical theory and methodology, rather than simply applying established perspectives.
Eligibility
General Requirements:
- Second-cycle degree (Master’s or equivalent, 240 ECTS, including 60 at Master’s level)
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written, equivalent to English B from Swedish upper secondary school)
Specific Requirements for Human Geography:
- Master’s degree in human geography or a closely related discipline
- Independent work of ≥30 higher education credits, at least half at Master’s level
Assessment Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Pertinence and originality of the proposed research
- Ability to structure and write an academic text
- Engagement with human-geographical theory, methodology, and debates
- Contribution to the department and alignment with departmental research
