Position Highlights
The Department of Child Health is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the laboratory of Dr. Kalin. The lab studies molecular mechanisms involved in tissue injury/repair and carcinogenesis. Several projects are available, including the role of endothelial cells and pericytes during lung injury and regeneration and the role of tumor micro-environments in cancer progression. The position will involve the use of animal models, human cell lines, and cutting-edge technologies, including nanoparticle delivery systems and omics. These research projects have the potential to lead to new therapies, which will then be tested in clinical trials. The fellowship will provide training opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research. Develop and strengthen collaborative network.
- Design, and lead comprehensive research projects.
- Utilize and troubleshoot new research methods.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments.
- Foster collaborations within the Department and with other units across the University.
- Derive, analyze, and format data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
- Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
- Independently reproduce, evaluate, research, and improve techniques currently used.
- Present results at laboratory meetings, conferences, and publish papers.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in grant writing, including generating preliminary data and submitting grant applications and progress reports.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of research activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to develop reports and present results in oral and written formats.
- Knowledge of coordinating experiments, and completing data analysis, statistics, and interpretation.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to participate in scientific conferences and present research findings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a related field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microscopy experience, particularly fluorescence and confocal imaging and analysis.
- Experience with flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and protein analysis.
- Experience with animal models.
- Bioinformatic analysis experience, including R programming.
