Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for the position of postdoctoral Fellows to join a dynamic and innovative research program.
Our lab is at the forefront of studying the regulation and protective functions of Peroxiredoxin 6 (Prdx6) and lens epithelial-derived growth factor (LEDGF) in age-related blinding disorders. Our lab focuses on understanding their roles in delaying/preventing age-related yey disorders, including cataract formation with the ultimate goal of identifying therapeutic strategies to preserve vision.
We are inviting highly motivated candidates with expertise in gene regulation, stress response pathways, and cell survival mechanisms using advanced/modern molecular approaches, including Gene-targeting technologies, Microarray and ChIP assay analyses, Functional assays for cell survival and stress response, Protein chemistry and protein-protein interactions, protein-DNA interactions with role(s) of epigenetics and Bioinformatics, Cell culture and transcriptional regulation, Imaging and large-scale data analysis/Bioinformatics, and Epithelial biology.
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field
- Proven expertise in molecular/cellular biology
