Postdoctoral Research Associate/Program on Science and Global Security

Princeton University's Program on Science and Global Security (SGS), based in the School of Public and International Affairs, is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to advance our work on nuclear arms control, disarmament, nonproliferation, verification, and on the global security challenges associated with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and space-based systems, including large satellite constellations. A recent PhD in physics, engineering, computer science, or other relevant fields and strong interest in technical and policy research to advance national and international policies for a safer and more peaceful world are required. The benefits-eligible postdoctoral appointment is for a twelve-month term, starting around September 2025 or an agreed date later in 2025 or early 2026, with the possibility of renewal for another 12 months, contingent on satisfactory performance and funding. Salary will be determined on the basis of experience and accomplishments. Postdoctoral researchers with SGS are expected to be active participants in one or more of our collaborative projects, work with and help mentor graduate students in our Program, participate in the regular SGS seminar series and other Program activities, and assist with relevant undergraduate or graduate courses. Program faculty and senior researchers will offer mentoring to support professional development.
