Postdoctoral Research Associate
A position is available for a postdoctoral researcher in condensed matter theory in the lab of Yves Kwan in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Areas of interest in our lab include, but are not limited to: fractionalization (e.g. fractional Chern insulators and fractional topological insulators); unconventional superconductivity; exotic phenomena in 2D materials, including engineered systems such as moiré and beyond-moiré heterostructures; connections between quantum information science and quantum matter; far-from-equilibrium quantum many-body systems.
The position will involve the study of strongly-interacting condensed matter and quantum systems, broadly construed. The successful candidate is expected to be proficient in analytical and/or computational approaches to quantum many-body systems. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with other theoretical and experimental groups, both at UT Dallas and beyond. Experience with numerical techniques such as tensor networks, quantum Monte Carlo, ab initio calculations, and AI/ML is a plus.
