The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing at the University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Research Associate for a joint appointment between the Speech Sensorimotor Control Lab and the Speech Neuroscience Lab. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to leading-edge research on the sensorimotor mechanisms of speech and their impairments in adult neurogenic and neurological populations with speech‑language disorders.
About the Research Program
Our labs investigate the neural and sensorimotor bases of speech production using a combination of EEG, fMRI, and advanced behavioral testing methodologies. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment.
Responsibilities
The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will:
- Plan, conduct, and direct a variety of experiments and simulations using advanced equipment and complex research techniques.
- Collect, analyze, evaluate, and interpret research data.
- Plan and execute experimental protocols with precision and scientific rigor.
- Disseminate research findings through manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and grant proposal writing.
- Engage in collaborative research across multiple disciplines within UT Dallas.
Candidates with a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech and Hearing Science and other related fields (e.g., Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Engineering and Psychology) are welcome to apply.
The salary for Post-Doctoral Research Associates in BBS is determined by years of experience per the current NIH (NRSA) stipend levels. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. This appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Continued employment is contingent on availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
