As a Full-Time Classroom, Clinical and Lab Instructor in the Adult Education Practical Nursing Program at PLCC, you will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. Utilizing core skills in curriculum development, patient care, and teaching, you will deliver engaging and informative lessons to students. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.)

Essential Functions

(May include any of the following tasks):

  1. Develop instructional objectives, a syllabus and outline for each assigned course and evaluate student progress
  2. Assist the Practical Nursing Administrator and teaching assistants/other faculty in the preparation of clinical materials
  3. Utilize teaching strategies that will assist students in meeting course and clinical objectives and provide support and guidance
  4. Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students in clinical experiences and monitor students during written exams
  5. Maintain the record-keeping process for students in the program and complete reports as required
  6. Assist the Practical Nursing Administrator in planning and promoting the program
  7. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as professional nurses, citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings and help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values
  8. Provide leadership to the program through professional development and participation in professional organizations
  9. Maintain positive relationships and collaborate with other health agencies in the community and participate in advisory committees and program development committees
  10. Participate in community functions as requested
  11. Perform other duties as requested by district administrators

Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an approved college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or coursework to obtain degree within one year and provide evidence of such)
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  3. Clinical experience in a hospital environment highly desirable
  4. Prior teaching experience in a nursing education program is preferred
  5. Valid driver's license
  6. Hold and maintain a current, valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio for a minimum of two (2) years
  7. Hold a career-technical teaching license or be eligible to obtain a one-year state license
  8. Computer technology skills as necessary for the position
  9. Good attendance
  10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, fellow employees, and the community
  11. Pass BCI and FBI records check and/or other district pre-employment requirements
  12. The employee may not be under the influence of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled
    substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District

Working Conditions

(Working conditions may include any of the following):

  1. Use of keyboards and exposure to computer screens
  2. Use of electrical equipment
  3. Possible exposure to body fluids
  4. Possible exposure to sharp instruments
  5. Possible exposure to airborne particles
  6. Light physical exertion in moving items, lifting, and reaching
  7. Lifting and moving clients and equipment according to safe lifting strategies in clinical sites
  8. Possible exposure to inclement weather during work-related travel

Reports To: Practical Nursing Program Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year

Expected hours:
40 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
