Practitioner-in-Residence, Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS)

The Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) program in the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs at Carleton University invites applications for a four-month Practitioner-in-Residence position. The program is interested in candidates working on projects of global and international significance.We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach in the area of global health threats and pandemics worldwide. The candidate will be expected to work with our students on an experiential learning team project course that addresses practical research design involved in, for example, detecting, tracking, and reporting potential global public health threats. The candidate is expected to be in residence in Ottawa, Canada and take the award during Carleton’s Winter semester, January 1, 2027 – April 30, 2027. The appointment will involve delivering one public lecture, teaching one course, and regularly engaging with BGInS students, including during weekly in-person office hours. The position pays $12,500.

Qualifications:The applicant should have a record of research and/or public policy engagement in the broad field of global and international studies, ranging from work in the public service, diplomacy, policy research arena, civil society advocacy, development, international litigation, or security services. A PhD is not required for this position.
