Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. The Undergraduate Pre-Law Adjunct position is considered an Online Adjunct Professor position with the Helms School of Government and is expected to instruct students in accordance with the university standards of instruction and fulfill all administrative obligations. This position will be assigned an Instructional Mentor as director supervisor, teaching courses that introduce foundation concepts and skills that are essential for success in law school and the legal profession such as torts, property contracts, criminal and civil procedure, and legal reasoning. The courses also emphasize developing competency in logic, critical analysis, and ethical decision-making while engaging with major themes in constitutional law and the American legal system. The curriculum prepares students for the LSAT through structured exposure to analytical thinking and argumentation. All instruction is delivered from a distinctly Christian worldview, integrating biblical principles with legal studies and exploring how faith informs the practice of law, justice, and public policy. Instruction
* Conduct all instructional activities in accordance with the university standards of instruction.
* Teach from the material within the approved curriculum on schedule.
* Provide timely feedback on assignments and replies to student correspondence.
* Maintain and report student grades and attendance.
Administrative
* Inform HSOG of availably to be assigned courses in each subterm using the schools proscribed methods.
* Maintain up-to-date personnel and professional data in the university's databases.
* Conduct self-evaluations as part of the professional evaluation process.
* Monitor the HSOG Communication Center and assigned Instructional Mentor's channel.
* Complete FERPA, Title IX, and all other assigned training on time.
* Support Subject Matter Experts and Program Directors in curriculum development and conduct assessment activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
* Juris Doctorate (JD).
Other Qualifications
* Demonstrated strengths in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level.
* Appropriate mentoring and interpersonal skills.
* Organizational skills that facilitate the completion of assignments and tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
* Familiarity with of Microsoft Office suite and online Learning Management Systems
