"Primary Faculty / Anatomy Lab Director"

Position Description

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for Primary Faculty / Anatomy Lab Director position beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.

This open-rank position is for a full-time, renewable, 12-month faculty member with administrative release for directing the anatomy lab (Tier 1). Responsibilities include teaching anatomy and other coursework across graduate health professions programs, advising students, and overseeing operations of the cadaver laboratory. This position ensures delivery of high-quality anatomy instruction, supports student learning and academic success, and maintains safe, ethical, and compliant management of all cadaveric materials and lab facilities. The faculty member contributes to program governance, assessment, and accreditation efforts consistent with institutional and appropriate accreditation standards (e.g., ARC-PA, ACOTE, CAPTE). Scholarship (path dependent) and participation in university, community, and professional service are required.

Required Qualifications

• Terminal doctoral degree required (Academic or Professional)
• Graduate Certificate, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Anatomy, Biological Sciences, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching anatomy at the collegiate or professional level.
• Experience with human cadaver dissection and anatomical laboratory procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to student-centered education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD)
• Experience managing an anatomy laboratory.
• Prior experience in medical or health professions education.
• Licensed healthcare provider preferred.
