Class Description
The purpose of this class is to produce quality printed and duplicated products.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED and two year's of experience working in a commercial print shop, with printing press equipment, digital copiers and/or binding equipment. Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with moving violation points less than five (5).
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Operate print presses.
- Provide customer service relating to jobs.
- Complete jobs according to specifications.
- Maintain equipment and supplies.
- Assist with shipping and receiving.
Position Specific Essential Duties
- Operate pre-press equipment, printing presses for production of up to 4-color process work, digital copiers and bindery equipment.
- Provide quality control, from intake to finishing, for all jobs.
- Oversee the daily assignments of part-time, temp-hourly, work study, or student aide employees.
- Provide customer service including answer phones and emails, log incoming jobs, record relevant job information, and oversee shipping/delivery details.
- Be cognizant of the inventory of all raw materials, such as papers and inks and notify Printing Services Manager when ordering is needed.
- Receive the delivery of goods, and maintain inventories in orderly fashion.
- Maintain skill level to perform basic maintenance procedures on printing and bindery equipment.
- Operate high speed duplicator(s), off-line finishing and related duplicating equipment, as necessary.
