Department Summary:
The Computer Science Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer Science. Instruction is provided by 16 tenure track faculty, 2 emeritus faculty, and 6 career instructor faculty. The department serves approximately 600 undergraduate and 90 graduate majors, as well as offering a number of general education classes in the discipline. The primary research foci of the tenure track faculty are high-performance computing, data science, networking, and distributed systems with cross-cutting concerns of security and privacy.
Position Summary:
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Oregon is inviting applications for its open instructor pool. Positions are limited duration teaching appointments, typically not to exceed one year. There may be a possibility of renewal up to a total of three years, depending on program needs, funding, and performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Education, or a related field.
Professional Competencies:
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A PhD in Computer Science, Computer Science Education, or a related field.
- Teaching and/or practical experience in the field.
