The Prevention Science Institute (PSI) is a multi-disciplinary institute focused on understanding human development, promoting behavioral health, and implementing effective interventions in community settings. The PSI encompasses focus areas consistent with the field of prevention science, including prevention and intervention, and implementation science.
Position Summary
The Prevention Science Institute (PSI) at the University of Oregon is seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. Appointments may be as a research assistant, conducting research under the direction of a principal investigator, or as a research associate, conducting research with only general guidance.
Examples of the types of positions that arise include: Interviewer/Assessors, Data Managers, Records Coordinators, Recruiters.
Minimum Requirements
- Research Assistant (Type A): Positions that require skills and/or experience relevant to the duties of the position but do not have a minimum degree requirement.
- Research Assistant (Type B): Positions require a bachelor's or equivalent degree.
- Research Assistant (Type C): Positions require a master's or equivalent degree.
- Research Associate rank: Terminal degree.
Professional Competencies
- Knowledge of spoken and written English sufficient to obtain, provide, or exchange information.
- Ability to communicate effectively, with a specific capacity for sensitivity, confidentiality, diligence, and persistence.
- Customer service skills and the ability to effectively relate project information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with standardized assessments, surveys & interviews.
- Experience with behavioral coding.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Fluency in Spanish.
