Our Goals: Promote an accessible campus environment where students are viewed on their ability, not disability; Establish and publicize clear guidelines and procedures to address the responsibilities of the University and students in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended in 2008; Determine appropriate academic adjustments and accommodations/services so that students with disabilities are provided an equal opportunity to participate; Utilize the latest technology to enhance and support independence in the educational experiences of students with disabilities; Provide students with disabilities the opportunity to develop and grow the skills necessary to advocate for themselves within the campus community. The Proctoring Assistant in the Disability Resource Office duties include: Ensure exam integrity and provide superior customer service in a friendly, technology-enhanced environment; Scan and upload completed exams to the appropriate instructor or contact person; Ensure all exams are filed correctly, double-checking rosters and daily completed exams; Prepare specialized software and files needed for testing (training provided on software); Answer fundamental questions over the phone, by email, and in-person; Know when a query needs to be escalated to a full-time proctor; Assist in any other areas as determined by full-time proctors or upper management, as needed; Able to serve as an intermittent replacement for a full-time proctor in any extenuating circumstances; Individuals will be expected to be flexible both in hours and day-to-day operations.
