Professional Rater II - Psychiatry
Position Summary
A group of investigators in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the Washington University School of Medicine are seeking to hire a compassionate, dedicated Professional Rater II to join and amplify our growing team. We are devoted to improving the outcomes of children with mental health concerns. We are seeking individuals with comfort and familiarity working with children and diverse families, and strong research and organizational skills. This position will involve an ongoing study within the Early Emotional Development Program (EEDP) in the Department of Child Psychiatry. This individual will require experience working with diverse study populations and school districts in the Saint Louis area. These studies primarily investigate relationships between early experiences, emotional development, and child psychopathology. Specifically, this position will assist study coordinators in numerous phases of the THRIVE study, coding of child assessments from the NOA study, and possible other studies as needed. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and a minimum of two Saturdays per month.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, screens and schedules subjects for study per protocol.
- Manages day-to-day aspects of the studies including consenting participants, running assessments, updating study protocols, and assisting with IRB.
- Administers child behavioral assessments for child participants ages four to fifteen, in addition to parent assessments.
- Guides parents and participants through the process by providing thorough instructions and responding appropriately to participant concerns.
- Performs data entry and filing in accordance with study guidelines.
- Evaluates research results, reporting findings and discussing project outcomes
- May participate in training of Professional Rater I.
- Maintains proper documentation and recordkeeping.
- Codes infant and child videos based on existing and developing protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Required Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
- Some evenings and weekends will be required for this position.

Salary Range
$19.21 - $28.85 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
