The Department is keen to enhance its reputation as a world-class research hub and generator of knowledge that prides itself over teaching and mentorship. It hopes that new faculty members will embrace that agenda with the support of abundant facilities at the Department.
The Department is seeking a quality scholar with proven research excellence in any subfield of Psychology. Applicants should have (i) demonstrated potential/ ability to build a strong publication track record and obtain grants; (ii) international experience; and (iii) strong commitment to supervise students. Scholars with demonstrated academic leadership, research excellence, a track record of obtaining external competitive funding and rich experience in student’ supervision are particularly welcome.
The appointee will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (e.g. research methods); (b) supervise students’ projects and theses; (c) undertake research; and (d) assist in service and administrative duties. The appointee at Professor rank will also play a leadership role in teaching and research initiatives and administrative services.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2027, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation. Outstanding candidates with substantial experience for Professor rank may be specially considered for appointment on substantive basis forthwith.
Salary and fringe benefits will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, a contract-completion gratuity for an appointment of two years or longer, and housing benefits for eligible appointee.
