Work content and job description

We seek candidates working broadly in theoretical physics related to quantum science. We particularly welcome researchers who can develop original research in areas connecting particle physics and cosmology, nuclear theory, and condensed matter theory—including fields such as quantum gravity and quantum many-body physics—with quantum information, quantum computing, quantum technologies, and quantum sensing, as well as at the interfaces among these fields. The successful candidate will conduct research in these areas, contribute to undergraduate and graduate education in the Department of Physics, and participate in university administration.

Compensation

Annual salary: 7 million yen

The University's Type I annual salary system applies. The approximate annual salary is JPY 8 million or more for a Professor and JPY 7 million or more for an Associate Professor. The actual salary will be determined in accordance with Tohoku University regulations, taking into account the successful candidate's experience and employment history.
