Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree or equivalent; (ii) a strong research track record in the field of microbiology; and (iii) commitment to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate student supervision. Applicants should also have a strong record of external funding support, international recognition and leadership. Experience in microbial biology, translational microbiome research, bioinformatics and systems microbiology is an advantage.

The appointee(s) will (a) undertake teaching and related educational activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students; (b) supervise MPhil and PhD students; (c) apply for competitive research grants and related funding; and (d) conduct high-standard research projects independently and in collaboration with other parties.

Appointment(s) will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing as soon as possible, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation.
