The University of Arizona's School Garden Workshop (SGW) uses school gardens as hands-on learning environments that connect academics to sustainability, local ecology, and food systems. Through this service-learning program, interns support garden development in underserved Tucson schools, working with educators and K-12 students. The Sonoran Desert School Gardener's Almanac-an annually published, free resource-extends this impact by connecting classrooms and communities to regional knowledge through partnerships with local contributors. Together, these efforts foster curiosity, cooperation, and community engagement.
