Position Highlights

The W. A. Franke Honors College is seeking an experienced program coordinator. The chosen candidate will support efforts that allow Franke Honors students to develop mentorship and leadership skills that they can use to support their peers in crafting meaningful pathways to graduation with Honors, improve their college and communities, and prepare to mentor and lead in their future careers.

This role will support the Assistant Director - Mentorship, Leadership, and Belonging Initiatives in facilitating the PATH Mentorship and Leadership Internship, collaborating with and coaching four Student Coordinators, and assisting with the launch and administration of new mentorship and leadership initiatives/partnerships in the Franke Honors College.

This position will help support regular student events that occur on evenings or weekends. The successful applicant for this position will be expected to work with their supervisor on a flexible schedule that allows them to meet this expectation while also maintaining a strong work-life balance and not exceeding expected work hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the Assistant Director with administration of logistical aspects of the PATH Mentorship and Leadership Internship/Program, including, but not limited to, gathering and summarizing program data, scheduling and conducting student training, coordinating mentee intake processes, mentor recruitment, mentee-mentor matching, and coordinating collaborative processes such as the PATH Spring Change Projects.
  • Collaborate with supervisor and student coordinators to assist with the weekly (Fall) and twice-weekly (Spring) PATH "Pod"/Internship meetings, implementing PATH Leadership and Mentorship Curriculum based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and PATH's Partnerships Model of Mentorship. This responsibility will focus on facilitating peer-to-peer support and conversations, and selectively contributing to manage meeting flow and integrate curriculum. It will further involve some grading and grade entry responsibilities for student participation in program.
  • Engage in direct student engagement, support, and coaching via private meetings with mentors, meetings, recruitment programming with potential mentees and mentors, collaborative work with (and coaching of) Student Coordinators, presence at program/college events, and facilitation of PATH Pod Meetings.
  • Support PATH program and (program-sponsored) college-wide events in close collaboration with Student Coordinator (Events), with a particular focus on event data, event logistics, marketing of events, supply orders and purchases, and event supervision.
  • Develop program learning materials and content (in collaboration with Student Coordinators) for PATH program online presence/tools, including PATH website, PATH newsletter, D2L/website, forms, Airtable, Calendly, and Kahoot.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skill in communication, both in-person and virtually.
  • Skills in collaboration, as both a project leader and helper.
  • Skills in coordination across multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Ability to switch between independent project work and large-group facilitation.
  • Ability to balance collaboration and coaching with students, with a focus on student growth, belonging, and empowerment.
  • Ability to prioritize cultivation of peer-to-peer support, connections, and network development.
  • Knowledge of online tools/systems such as Airtable, Calendly, Trellis, and Kahoot.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative tools, particularly Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Express.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with student mentorship and/or leadership programs.
  • Student, volunteer, or employment experience in an Honors College environment.
  • Experience in program support or coordination.
  • Work experience in training or educational contexts.
