Program Director and Assistant Professor - College of Medicine
Job Description
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine-Chattanooga, is seeking a full-time, non-tenured Assistant Professor and Program Director. This position directs our neurology training program to be in full alignment with all Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including but not limited to resident recruitment, maintaining excellent clinical and academic training, scheduling, mentoring, evaluating, and leading appropriate committees as mandated by the ACGME requirements. The Program Director is responsible for the success of the program and communicates with ACGME and responds to site visits and citations. This position works closely with the Program Coordinator for data and maintenance of all files.
Responsibilities
- Supervises all residents and committee meetings related to the residency training program as per the duties assigned to the program director in the ACGME requirements and guidelines.
- Conducts clinical trials as principal investigator or sub investigator, as participation in residents' didactic effort, including yearly grand round presentation is anticipated as well as the regular hospital clinic and bedside teaching.
- Reports to and will be supervised by the Chair of the Neurology Department and the institutional DEO.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: MD or DO Degree.
LICENSES: Board certification in Neurology.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as a Neurology Program Director or Associate Program Director.
