The School of Technology & Computing (STC) offers a comprehensive range of programs at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Science (CS), Cybersecurity (CY), and Data Science (DS). Both the Bachelor of Cybersecurity and Master of Cybersecurity degrees have earned the CAE-CDE designation from the Department of Defense, the NSA, and the Department of Homeland Security, reflecting their high standards in cybersecurity education. All STC undergraduate programs incorporate fundamental security knowledge units. Additionally, STC extends its academic offerings internationally, providing undergraduate programs and courses in China and Mexico.
Job Description:
The School of Technology & Computing (STC) seeks an innovative Program Director to lead undergraduate academic programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Science (CS), Cybersecurity (CY), and Data Science (DS). In this pivotal leadership role, you will drive academic excellence in partnership with Seattle's thriving high-tech, maritime, healthcare, and related industries. You will spearhead the advancement of degree programs focused on AI, CS, CY, and DS, with special emphasis on Physical AI, Digital Twins, Cybersecurity in Operational Technology, and Autonomous Systems. Your work will help ensure CityU remains the top choice for students eager to tackle high-impact, real-world engineering challenges in the "Blue Economy." Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:- Drive Program Innovation & Relevance
Lead the vision, design, and continuous evolution of technology and computing programs, ensuring alignment with emerging trends (e.g., AI, data, cybersecurity) and accreditation standards. - Lead & Inspire Faculty Excellence
Recruit, mentor, and develop faculty to deliver high-impact, industry-relevant teaching; foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. - Champion Student Outcomes
Elevate student success through engaging, career-focused learning experiences; monitor retention and completion, and implement strategies to support student achievement. - Oversee Program Operations & Growth
Manage course scheduling, faculty assignments, and key performance metrics (enrollment, retention, completion) to ensure program health and scalability. - Build Industry Partnerships
Strengthen connections with industry to inform curriculum, expand internship opportunities, and enhance career pathways for students. - Contribute as a Thought Leader
Teach or develop three courses annually; stay current with industry advancements; contribute to applied research, innovation, and professional practice. - Provide Strategic Leadership
Lead hiring, coaching, and performance management of faculty and staff; collaborate across the university and contribute to key initiatives and governance.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree in STEM fields.
- An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in AI, CS, CY, DS, or a closely related discipline (Or we expect the candidate to receive his or her doctoral degree within 1 year)
- Demonstrated experience in higher education management and adult education, with at least three years of successful teaching—preferably in both in-person and online learning environments.
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in the technology industry.
- At least two AI-related publications within the past three years.
- At least one current industry certification related to computing.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams in creative, innovative, virtual, and digital environments.
- Thorough understanding of the practitioner-faculty model and a strong commitment to delivering the highest quality educational experience in technology and computing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to consistently present a professional image on behalf of the academic school and CityU.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in research and/or teaching in Artificial Intelligence, Physical AI, Digital Twins, Cybersecurity (Information Technology or Operational Technology), Full-stack AI Development, or AI-Powered Software Engineering.
- Possession of multiple industry certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Data Science.
- Experience addressing student academic concerns and issues.
- Experience managing and leading virtual teams.

- Evening and weekend classes may be assigned.
- Travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
Salary information:
$105,000 - $115,000/year DOE
