Program/Extension Aide III
The Opportunity
This role oversees comprehensive logistical support for domestic and international travel, event coordination, and budget management across several dairy-related educational programs, courses, workshops, and other events. It involves developing and maintaining educational materials, marketing outreach, and student recruitment efforts, while also serving as the staff liaison for the Cornell University Dairy Science Club (CUDS), managing travel, finances, and student and industry engagement.

This is a full-time position at 100% FTE. This is a one-year term appointment that is contingent upon available work, funding, and performance.

About the Department
The Department of Animal Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the biology and management of food, laboratory, and companion animal species. Our research programs advance our understanding of animal biology and address local and global issues facing animal industries today. Our goals are to discover and develop new techniques and information to benefit animals, agriculture and human health. Our internationally recognized faculty has diverse interests in animal management, breeding, genetics, physiology, nutrition, growth biology and microbiology.
About the Unit
The Dairy Management program is designed for students, dairy farmers, agribusiness people and others who have a sincere interest in dairy farm management. Objectives are to gain further understanding of the integration and application of dairy farm management principles and programs with respect to progressive dairying and related industries.
What We Need
- Associate's degree and up to 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted NYS driver's license and be cleared to drive for university business.
- Must be flexible, have excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with a broad range of people.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical, as is ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have experience with computer applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe, etc.
- Able to work quickly and efficiently under general supervision.
- Effectively use judgment to prioritize and accomplish tasks.
- May need to occasionally change work schedule to meet program needs.

If you have all those things, great! We have a few more things that we would prefer you to have, but it's ok if you don't. Prior Cornell experience, advanced familiarity with Cornell systems highly desirable including KFS.
