Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, the position will work closely with IBSI faculty, staff, affiliates, partners, and donors to advance the work program and research agendas across the various initiatives at IBSI. In particular, the position will support the project management, fundraising, events planning and communications for several IBSI initiatives including: health and mental health, shared ownership, and personal finance and financial health.
Administrative Support:
- Handle administrative tasks such as grant submissions, contracting mechanisms (staff, students, POs, etc.), and reimbursements.
- This also involves the development of IBSI administrative systems and templates for enhancing operational efficiency and managing students.
Project Management:
- Manage and coordinate projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans and budgets.
- This includes managing students, tracking project milestones, managing resources, and resolving issues.
- For research-related projects, this may also include supporting faculty and researchers in designing research studies, developing Institutional Review Board protocols and submissions, collecting and cleaning data, and interpreting findings.
Communications and Outreach:
- Develop and disseminate findings through various channels, including research briefs, blog posts, and presentations.
- This involves crafting clear and engaging content to communicate complex research ideas to a diverse audience.
Event Planning:
- Support the organization of events, workshops, and seminars, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- This includes managing logistics, speaker recruitment, and participant engagement including travel budgets and reimbursements using the appropriate UC systems.
Other duties as assigned include Professional Learning and Growth:

Required Qualifications
- Experience working independently and taking initiative, and in team environments.
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
- Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize data with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Working knowledge of and/or can quickly learn UC administrative systems and programs including HR, Finance and Events Planning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.
- Exemplifies Haas' four Defining Leadership Principles: (1) Question the status quo; (2) Confidence without attitude; (3) Students always; and (4) Beyond yourself.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior project management or program management experience.
- Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $30.17 - $41.04.
- This is a non-exempt, biweekly-paid position.
