Job Description:
The Program Specialist (WCC) administers grants and implements programs based on the needs of students and goals of the funding sources. The incumbent is responsible for grant-supported programs and services to seniors within the county in partnership with the County's Department of Senior Programs and Services. They will develop and monitor budgets; write monthly and annual reports; and schedule events, publicize events as well as speakers for community-based organizations providing services to the senior population of Westchester County. The incumbent will also hire and oversee faculty members who work with community agencies to ensure that program goals and objectives are met. Developing partnerships and serving as a liaison to community agencies to meet their instructional needs and services are additional responsibilities. The Program Specialist (WCC) will also supervise administrative staff and student workers and arrange for support for many WDCE courses.
In addition, the incumbent plays an integral role in the operation of the Community Education Department which includes, but is not limited to, vetting new course proposals, identifying opportunities for programmatic growth, managing the Senior Audit program, assisting with planning and implementation of programs and events hosted with external partners and overall marketing, communications and assessment of programs and services, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is required that the successful candidate possess a Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services. The satisfactory completion of 30 credits towards a Master's Degree may be substituted for each year of the experience.
REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational and technology skills are strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS:The starting salary is $74,384. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $92,149.
