An exciting opportunity has arisen to join LSE, supporting our world-leading Extended Education offering.
The Extended Education Unit is a highly successful and commercially focused division that delivers LSE’s world-renowned Summer School and distance learning degree programmes.
- The LSE Summer School enjoys a truly global reputation, as the largest in the world in terms of global intake. Running since 1989, the programme attracts over 8,000 enrolments from over 100 countries worldwide, across 100 courses run over the course of nine weeks. This year we are expecting to the largest programme on record.
- Through LSE-designed Global Programmes, over 10,000 students worldwide currently study with us online or at one of 30 recognised teaching centres.
These programmes we offer across this diverse and dynamic portfolio provide a significant revenue source for the School, generating critical funds to invest in LSE’s world-leading teaching and research. We operate in increasingly competitive markets and have ambitious targets for growth.
The Programme Assistant will join a team committed to providing an outstanding level of service and front-line support to our students. They will be involved in the entire student journey, from enquires through to attendance on campus, assessments and certification.
We welcome candidates with excellent communication skills, who are committed to providing first class customer experience. They will have previous experience of working in an administrative role, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people and be able to work as part of a team. To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate that they have a high attention to detail and have the ability to plan and organise their own workload and consistently meet deadlines.

Please note there is a minimum requirement for the postholder to work on site at least three days per week during non-peak times and full time during peak periods for the Summer School.
